Tired of travelling in his journey. He decides to takes a rest. But rest only brings new form of trouble. Unknown to him, in the midst of the trouble was a treasure. the very treasure he had been looking for.
He decides to enter a tavern to rest only to bump into a friend he met in his travels. There was a discussion going on. A pretty normal discussion regarding relationships. But one of the comments truck him deep. A comment from a woman. A lady. Regardless, he decides to tell her off nicely, questioning her statement. Disappointed in joining the discussion, he left the tavern for a quieter spot.
Resting quietly in under the tree in the dark sky, a messenger came. A young boy. "Sir, a message for you.." puzzled he takes the letter and reads. It's from the woman in the tavern. "How did you find me here child?" I asked the boy. "lucky I guess? the lady told to find you and not to return till I bring back your reply."
At first thought, he wish to ignore but decides against it wondering what it would be. Curiosity had always been part of his nature. Intrigued by the message, he wrote a reply and send the boy off to his duty.
Soon after, the boy returns. "She replied?" I asked surprised. "yes sir" he said with a grin. And soon messages were constantly sent. Poor kid running back and forth. And so he decides to stay in that town for his rest as he continues exchanging messages. As more messages were exchanged, he felt the need to meet this lady. He was captivated. He was surprised as well. From the messages exchanged, it seems like he knew her. Seems like they knew each other. But never he met her before.
And so on one fateful night, they met. When he saw her. She looks beautiful. Better than he expected her to be. By mere coincidence, They were both wearing black. "So where you wanna go?" he asked her. "anywhere I guess?" was her reply.
And so they took a walk under the moonlit sky. Talking, laughing and sharing stories to one another. They walked and walked and ended up in the next town. The longer he spent time with her, The more he was enchanted. He was smitten. Physically looking out for her in their walk, Mentally lost in her presence.
And as they feet grew tired, they decided to take a rest by a pond. Nice of the town to have placed lights by the pond. Clear was the water in the pond. Clear enough to see the fishes as they swim freely. They chatted as they look at the swimming fishes. Even ended up talking to the fish. Crazy, but they were enjoying each other's company. They laughed and teased each other. Pinching cheeks and making jokes. He was falling, he was for once in a long time, feeling complete. Gently, subtly, he places his hands in his palms. Holding on to each other's hands as they talk through the night. And without a second thought, he placed a kiss on her cheeks. She was stunned. He apologized. He couldn't help it he explained.
They sat close in a moment of silence only to end up talking about the fishes in the pond. In the corner of her eye, she saw a rat. Scared, he suggested that they take a walk since she was feeling uncomfortable there. And as they walked in the dim moonlit woods of the town, He stopped her and held her close. Gently kissing her forehead.
Another moment of silence. He gazed in her eyes only to turn away and apologized once again. She hugs him. He looks back in her eyes, and shared a kiss. It was then and there he realized he found the treasure. The treasure he was looking for in his journey. He held her close embracing each other. He inhaled her as they kissed. He was lost in her arms. Everything seems to have stopped. Everything else didn't matter. Even as the ants creep up his legs, he never noticed. Embracing each other as if there was no tomorrow. He didn't want to let go. The intensity of it all. Everything feels so right. Everything felt like it was supposed to be. It felt like this was supposed to happen. He had fallen in love with this lady. A lady he knew barely a day.
And throughout the night, as they talked about each other, he open more of himself to her. He tell her stories of his life that he had always kept close in the darkest corner of his heart. Anger and sadness filled him up. Tears start to swell as he stares and reminisce of his past. She hugged him. He cried. He asked her, why was it so hard for anyone to do that? Despite all the anger and sadness that resides within him, only the warmth of a hug would sooth his raging fire. Somehow she knew that was all he needed.
Deep in his heart, he knew she was special. They connected so well. They knew each other like how a carpenter would know his tools. Like how a farmer would know his crops. And as the night fades away, to give way to the rising sun, they walked back to where they were. Unwillingly, they had to go separate ways. Just for today he hopes. He wishes to see her again. And as each day pass, he misses her more. And with each passing they, the keep exchanging messages. He learnt that she misses him too. He could only smile. He knows they will meet up again. Silently he prays. He prays that one day, they would be together.
The boy? He's still busy running back and forth sending messages. Poor child.
